Spencer Fane attorney Helen Holden was recently quoted in an article for the Phoenix Business Journal on staying compliant with Arizona’s employment regulations during the current spread of COVID-19.
Titled “What Valley employers need to know about paid sick leave,” the article outlines Arizona’s paid sick leave statute. “The best practice for employers is to have a written policy that covers every reason that an employee can use paid sick time,” Helen explains in the article. “Both employers and employees should check those written policies and make sure they understand what they are obligated to do.”
Helen also notes that companies should understand that Arizona law provides for paid sick leave when an employee must be absent due to public health emergencies.
