Spencer Fane attorney Cheryl Burtzel will present as part of the Cyberspace Law Institute. As Chair of the American Bar Association’s Cyberspace Law Committee, Cheryl led the planning and will help lead the Institute during February.
The institute’s distinguished faculty plans to deliver high-quality CLE programming. Subcommittee meetings and online social events will provide opportunities for networking, dialogue, and engagement with other business law professionals from around the world. Speakers include leading practitioners and law professors on media practices and the impact on the recent election, cybersecurity, cloud and enterprise technology, financial services and payments, privacy, and technology transfer and product development.
As part of a roundtable, Cheryl will help lead discussion at the “Year in Review/New Horizons for Cyberspace Law & Roundtable Discussion of 2020 Developments,” providing an overview of legal, technological, and regulatory developments affecting topics that include cybersecurity, intellectual property, data integrity, privacy, robotics, payment systems, and artificial intelligence.
During the Meeting, ABA Cyberspace Law Committee’s subcommittee leaders also will conduct substantive working meetings. These sessions will focus on subcommittee projects, publications and best practices, including a new book to be published as The Director’s Technology Handbook, a checklist for AI and Robotics due diligence, cyber insurance and recent developments in cross border data transfers.
