Spencer Fane attorney Erick Robinson outlined the top issues impacting the future of patent litigation at IPWatchdog LIVE 2022 on September 12 in Dallas, Texas.
During the presentation, Litigating Patents in Texas, Erick shared an overview of recent trends and hot topics relating to the future of patent litigation in the Western District of Texas, including a new court policy to randomly assign patent cases across the Western District of Texas, the perception that Judge Albright’s courtroom is patent owner-friendly, and the Federal Circuit continually granting mandamus petitions and transferring cases.
The panelists also explored the realities of litigating in all Texas districts, trends, and best practices. Erick was joined on the panel by Miranda Y. Jones, Porter Hedges LLP; David G. Henry, Munck Wilson Mandala; and Evelyn Chen, Ericsson.
