Elizabeth Lally Joins American Bankruptcy Institute Subchapter V Task Force

The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) announced its newly created Subchapter V Task Force at this year’s Annual Spring Meeting held in Washington D.C., April 20-22. Spencer Fane attorney Elizabeth Lally has been appointed to this nine-person panel of bankruptcy thought leaders.

As part of the Task Force, Elizabeth will “study and evaluate small-business reorganizations under subchapter V of chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, which went into effect on February 19, 2020.” This study will connect with the public to examine the subchapter’s efficacy with findings conveyed in an April 2024 final report.

ABI is the largest multidisciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. ABI was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues. The ABI membership includes more than 10,000 attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, professors, lenders, turnaround specialists, and other bankruptcy professionals, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information.

At Spencer Fane, Elizabeth is a Subchapter V Trustee for Region 12 and Partner with Spencer Fane’s bankruptcy group.
