Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney Derek Ankrom has been honored with the David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award by the Missouri Bar Foundation. Only three attorneys in the entire state are honored with the award each year.
The David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award was created by the Missouri Bar Foundation to recognize outstanding achievement in appellate practice by young lawyer members of the Missouri Bar. The award is named after the late Judge Dixon, whose tenacity, professionalism, and judicial skills epitomize outstanding appellate practice. The award identifies and rewards those Missouri lawyers that excel in advocacy skills as observed by appellate judges within the appellate district in the State of Missouri, the Supreme Court of Missouri, and/or the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
At Spencer Fane, Derek focuses on commercial litigation for religious and educational institutions, health care entities, and clients in the real estate, design, and construction industries. He represents local, regional, and national companies and not-for-profit entities in both litigation and corporate matters. Derek has appeared in trial courts throughout Southern Missouri and the Missouri Court of Appeals on behalf of his clients.
