Spencer Fane attorneys Katherine Whitney and Sam Young recently published an article in Planning Matters, a publication of the Colorado Chapter of the American Planning Association, on the current hurdles in developing affordable housing Colorado.
Titled “Community Inclusion: A Prerequisite to Solving the Housing Affordability Crisis” Katherine and Sam’s article explains how participation from the community in the planning process for affordable housing can lead to more successful projects.
“Housing projects for low- and very low-income earners fail when planning professionals do not collaborate with area residents, end users (those who will live in the as-built product), and government officials,” Katherine and Sam explained in the article.
