Roger Denny provides transactional counsel to a wide variety of Spencer Fane institutional and individual clients.
Roger’s sports practice focuses on the representation of athletic directors and university athletic departments. He assists Spencer Fane athletic department clients on a wide range of transactional matters, including the structure and implementation of efficient compensation arrangements, drafting and implementation of department policies and procedures, and in connection with the financing and construction of athletics facilities. Roger also works with our athletic director clients to identify and evaluate current and potential employment and collateral income opportunities and to review and structure their employment contracts in a tax efficient manner through the use of deferred compensation arrangements and other retirement-planning vehicles.
Roger represents real estate developers, investment firms, syndicators, banks, and public and privately-held companies in connection with a wide variety of transactional matters involving the use of financial incentives, tax credits and private equity funds. His understanding of the tax code and broad base of transactional experience allows him to quickly identify opportunities to obtain and leverage tax benefits and other financial incentives in structuring and documenting transactions on behalf of the firm’s institutional clients.
