Ken Newman is a partner in Spencer Fane’s St. Louis office and is a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Ken’s practice focuses on a number of key areas in the law including assisting employers with labor and employment issues, intellectual property matters such as patent, trademark and copyright, construction law and representation of client’s interest in resulting litigation. Ken’s practice in these areas is both local and regional in scope. Kenneth routinely advises corporate clients in risk avoidance and management in the daily operation of their respective companies and/or business ventures.
Ken acts as counsel to various condominiums in the St. Louis area. Recently, Kenneth represented a condominium board of managers in a case of first impression in the State of Missouri involving the validity of a rental cap.
Ken represents both residential and commercial contractors as well as architects and engineers starting with initial contract negotiations, construction of the project and post construction issues including resulting litigation.
Ken advises clients regarding corporate governance disputes including but not limited to shareholder derivative claims and internal management issues.
Ken advises and counsels clients in the area of IP including trade secret, trademark, patent and related IP matters including resulting litigation.

Ken has more than 20 years’ experience in helping employers navigate the complex rules and regulation of the modern work place. His approach is to provide practical and cost effective advice to employers.
Prior to joining Spencer Fane in 2010, Ken was the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Department Chair for 6 years at a major law firm in St. Louis where he was responsible for associate training and development.
