Dan Sciullo recognizes that counseling clients on business planning, tax planning, and estate planning involves more than just providing answers to his clients’ legal questions. Sciullo provides clients with solutions to their problems, and in providing those solutions, he recognizes the importance of considering and addressing business and family dynamics.
Sciullo built those problem-solving skills first as a civil engineer and then during his 35 years as an accomplished business, tax, and estate planning attorney. His practice encompasses all areas of tax and estate planning for family-owned and closely held businesses and for wealthy individuals, including income and gift planning, uses of partnerships and limited liability corporations (LLCs), and probate representation. Whether he is helping the owners of a family-owned business develop a succession plan or simply plan for an uncertain future, or clarifying an IRS rule about employee use of cell phones, Sciullo strives to provide innovative, well-reasoned and timely legal advice in the context of clients’ business realities and family dynamics. Sciullo knows that the greatest plan on paper will fail if it ignores the interpersonal relationships of the owners or the family.
Highlights of Dan’s experience include:
- Because of Sciullo’s experience with and knowledge of LLCs, he was selected, and has continued to serve since 1999, as national legal counsel for a first-of-its-kind LLC (authorized by the Federal Communications Commission) comprised of regional and national telecommunications companies responsible for administering local number portability and pooling efforts within the United States.
- Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable William Doyle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit
