Carmellia Boyer focuses her practice on trial and appellate litigation and labor and employment law.
Carmellia’s trial and litigation practice involves commercial disputes and construction disputes. She has represented a variety of small business clients including mortgage companies, medical staffing companies, software companies, and a radio broadcasting company in various transactional matters such as leases, staffing agreements, license agreements, distribution agreements, and asset sales. She served for two years as an on-site counsel to a savings and loan in receivership assisting with litigation management and asset disposition. Her prior experience in diverse transactions enables Carmellia to analyze litigation issues in their business context.
She also assists clients with development of employment policies, employment law compliance, responses to agency investigations, evaluation and enforcement of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and trade secret issues. She has represented employers in the defense of discrimination claims, tortious interference claims, and compensation claims.
Carmellia was an articles editor of the Texas Law Review and received the American Trial Lawyers Association award as Outstanding Senior Advocate in law school.
