His experience ranges from counseling small banks and businesses to representing large companies and banks, which routinely involve complicated lending transactions, mergers and acquisitions, correspondent bank issues, participation arrangements, repurchase and reverse repurchase agreements, fed funds and other investment media. His practice encompasses Uniform Commercial Code matters, contracts, financial institution operational problems, regulatory issues, workouts, foreclosures, bankruptcy, drafting complex credit agreements and other lending documents, syndicated credit facilities, purchasing and selling private companies and general business and corporate matters.
He has served as a member of the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City and is a member of the Platte County Economic Development Council. He was formerly a member of the Executive Committee of the Bank Counsel Section of the Missouri Bankers Association and a member of the Executive Committee of Kansas City Area Development Council. He was a director and member of the Executive Committee for the Center for Business Innovation, an incubator for new businesses. He currently serves as a Trustee for the American Legion Boys State of Missouri and is on the advisory board of Heartland’s Therapeutic Riding, Inc. for the handicapped, on which he previously served as Chairman of the Board. He has served as president and a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Club and, in addition to being a member of several associations, he also is involved in fund raising activities for a number of charitable organizations.
