ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUPS
How clean is clean in remediating a RCRA corrective action, CERCLA, or state VCP or Brownfields site? That is the key issue for environmental cleanups of soil and groundwater. Regulators often have very specific views about how much work is needed to achieve “clean” status. Unfortunately, accepting the regulators’ views can cost unnecessary time and money. Spencer Fane’s attorneys are strategic, results-oriented members of our clients’ remediation teams. We use our in-depth knowledge of state and federal cleanup goals and policies such as risk-based cleanup standards, presumptive remedies, vapor intrusion models, and the like to demonstrate that practical cleanups are possible, and to persuade regulators to accept those cleanup plans.
