Loyd is a member of Spencer Fane’s Litigation and Financial Services practice groups. He practices commercial and appellate litigation, focusing on matters involving disputes about contracts, unfair competition, and lending practices. His clients include large financial services companies and community banks, in addition to manufacturers, retailers, and construction companies. Loyd also has significant experience with complex civil litigation, including numerous class actions involving consumer-protection laws before state and federal courts in Missouri.
Loyd joined Spencer Fane after serving as a law clerk for the Honorable James R. Spencer, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Loyd attended law school at the University of Virginia, where he was a Dillard Fellow. Previously, he taught writing at the University of California, Los Angeles, earned a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
