Lisa Epps Dade is a partner practicing with Spencer Fane’s Financial Services group, concentrating in creditors’ rights, bankruptcy and business reorganizations. Lisa acted as debtor’s counsel in In re Dick Simon Trucking, Inc. in the District of Utah, which was one of the largest publicly-held refrigerated trucking companies in the United States, with operations across the United States, Canada and Mexico; acted as debtor’s counsel in In re Rocor International, Inc. in the Western District of Oklahoma, which was the largest trucking company in the State of Oklahoma; acted as Debtor’s counsel in In re Arctic Express, Inc. in the Southern District of Ohio, which was one of the largest refrigerated trucking companies in Ohio; and acted as debtor’s counsel in In re Wire Rope Corporation of America, Incorporated in the Western District of Missouri, which is the largest domestic supplier of wire rope in the United States.

In 1996-97, she was the Legal Extern for the Honorable James A. Pusateri, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Kansas. She is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Kansas and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Associations, as well as a member of the Kansas City Bankruptcy Bar Association, where she formally served as Secretary/Treasurer. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Missouri and Kansas. Lisa received her bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude, from The American University in 1991 and her juris doctor degree from the University of Kansas in 1997. From 1996-1997, Lisa was the Editor in Chief of the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy and was a National Moot Court team member. Lisa is a frequent lecturer on creditors’ and debtors’ rights issues.

Lisa is a graduate of Centurions, a leadership program of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and is the recipient of the 2003 Centurion Achievement Award for her outstanding contributions to the Centurions program. Lisa is active in several community and philanthropic organizations as a volunteer/board member.
