Lisa Epps Dade is a partner practicing with Spencer Fane’s Financial Services Group. Her practice involves representation of debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, bond trustees, bondholders, investors, bankruptcy trustees, and creditors’ and equity holders’ committees in complex corporate restructuring, workout and bankruptcy planning, negotiation and litigation both locally, regionally and nationally.
Lisa is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law and in the Kansas City Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar.” In addition to being a frequent speaker on Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights topics, Lisa currently serves as a member on the Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute’s Advisory Board. Lisa has previously served on the Bench Bar Committees for the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Kansas and the Western District of Missouri.
Lisa received her bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude, from The American University in 1991 and her juris doctor degree from the University of Kansas in 1997. In 1996-97, Lisa was the Legal Extern for the Honorable James A. Pusateri, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Kansas. From 1996-1997, Lisa was the Editor-in-Chief of the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy and was a National Moot Court team member. Lisa is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy and creditors’ and debtors’ rights issues.
Lisa is a graduate of Centurions, a leadership program of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and is the recipient of the 2003 Centurion Achievement Award for her outstanding contributions to the Centurions program. Lisa is active in several community and philanthropic organizations as a volunteer/board member.
