Kansas City Partner Pete Hartweger has been selected to receive the 2011 President’s Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation. Each year, the award goes to those individuals who have contributed significantly to the work of the Foundation, have added value to the organization and provided leadership during the past year.
Hartweger has served as the legal advisor to the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation since 2006. In addition to his work on behalf of the Foundation, Hartweger has served on the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Board of Directors since 2005. The KCMBA recognized Hartweger for his achievements by awarding him its President’s Award in 2007.
Hartweger’s practice emphasis is in mergers & acquisitions, tax, general business, non-profit entities, and IRS tax controversies. Peter represents numerous closely-held businesses, counseling them on tax, employment, contract, licensing, shareholder, e-commerce, and related issues. Peter also advises both buyers and sellers on various types of business acquisitions.
